Stocking to Argentina

Page and I had a great time shopping for and putting together this Christmas stocking for Sean. Page had the stocking made to look like Elder Gilmore. It even has a name tag in Spanish, and he is holding a Libro de Mormon (Book of Mormon).
If you click on the photo you will get to see a nice close up of the name badge. Pretty cool !

We filled it with lots of neat things for a missionary. Candy, nuts, toys, Mormon Tab tapes, CTR ring, ties.... what any 19 year old would want. We just hope it makes it safely in one piece to Buenos Aires, Argentina. We stayed away from anything chocolate since it is Summer down there and we didn't want a gooey mess.

USC Humbles Notre Dame... Again

USC 38 Notre Dame 3
We have beat Notre Dame 7 straight years. We have had a 10+ win season for 7 straight years. And we are going to another BCS bowl game. Looks like the Rose Bowl against Penn State since Oregon beat Oregon State tonight and knocked them out of the Rose Bowl if we beat UCLA next week. The game was never in doubt. The Irish didn't even get a first down until the last play of the 3rd quarter. Our defense is so awesome this year. And the offense put in a great effort tonigt too Let's do this again next week agains the UCLA bRuins.....

Kid's News

Well, I thought I would just update the blog with some news from the children....
Sean wrote us from Argentina this week telling us he is going to have his first baptism on Saturday. We are so happy for him. He is going to be the one doing the baptizing too. His first time. He has been teaching a 19 year old boy the gospel for the last month and he has committed to be baptized. We are really excited and send our love down to Buenos Aires.

Lacey has been a road warrior for the last two days. She drove, with a friend, down to Shreveport, Lousiana to be a bridesmaid at her high school friend's wedding on Saturday. I personally would have rathered flown to Shreveport, but Lacey wanted to have her car with her, so she drove 24 hours (12 each day) to get there. She just got there tonight. She gets to make the two day trip back starting on Sunday, but I know she will have a great time seeing all her friends and hanging out in the Ark-La-Tex. I wish I was down there so I could eat a chocolate eclair from JulieAnnes......

The Ol' Homestead

My brother, Pat, and his daughter, Taylor

Me and my Mom

It was great seeing my family in California last weekend. I didn't get to spend a lot of time with them, but I am thankful for the time I did have. I have to talk my brother into coming up and visit me in Wyoming sometime. I know Mom will be ready once the snow melts.

USC Game against Cal

I found myself in downtown LA on Saturday afternoon for a football game.

On Saturday the 8th I was in California seeing my family, and I was able to get two tickets to the USC-Cal game. It wasn't too hard to convince my twin brother, Patrick, to come along with me to the game in the LA Coliseum.

So can you tell I am a USC Trojan?

We got seats in the end zone, but they were still great seats. I haven't been to a USC home game in 10 years. I sure do miss my season tickets. I had a blast and USC beat California 17-3.

Pat and I had a great time. I was in heaven.... USC football heaven....
and it was the "perfect day".

(Perfect Day= USC win, UCLA loss and Notre Dame loss)

Arizona

I was at a conference for work in Scottsdale, Arizona last week. I really enjoyed the sunshine and the Mexican food! I also was able to drive by the Temple in Mesa before heading out to the airport to fly to California for the weekend with my Mom and Brother.

I VOTED

I love America

I feel blessed to be in a land that values freedom and liberty. A land where power is handed over through the ballot box and not guns. Some of my candidates won tonight and some lost, but Democracy is alive and well. And....I am proud how my fellow citizens of Wyoming voted today. I think they got it right....

My thoughts tonight:

ROMNEY 2012 !!!

USC destroys Washington

Guess what I did today? First I went to work because we moved into our new building yesterday. It is so awesome. I spent a couple hours putting things away in my new office. I took Page on a tour last night, and this morning, Lacey came over to see it. While there, she talked me into going to see High School Musical 3 with her and Page. (They have already seen it, but Lacey loves it and begged us to go again). The USC game wasn't being shown on TV in Wyoming anyway, so I went. Let's just say it was better than the 2nd one, but the first one is still the best.

Bigger news of the day is Texas Tech knocked off #1 Texas 39-33. Texas came back in the second half and almost won the game, but Tech hangs on with an awesome TD at the end. YIPEE!!

Also congrats to BYU. They hang on again this week with a come from behind TD to beat Colorado State 45-42 with only 29 seconds left. Way to go Cougars!

And the best victory of the day? USC 56- Washington 0. USC shuts out another opponent this year. Today was Homecoming at USC. Didn't get to go to the game today, but I will be in California next weekend and have two tickets to the USC- California game. I am taking my brother, Pat, to the game. I am so excited. I haven't been to a home game since I lived in California. Last time I had season tickets and was inside the Coliseum was during the 1998 season. We are talking a decade ago.

FIGHT ON, TROJANS !! Beat the Bears!
