Wearing of the Green Party

Had our first Ward Activity last night since I have been called to be Activities Chairman. We called it the "Wearing of the Green" party. Everyone came in green I purchased 65 pounds of corned beef, 20 pounds of red potatoes, 10 pounds of carrots, 10 heads of cabbage and about 20 onions and passed them out to various women in the ward on Wednesday night to cook for the party last night. We also had people bring green salads (leaf, jello, etc) and green desserts. We also had Irish music playing throught out the night. Well, we were hoping for at least 100 people and we got about 120. We had plenty of food and we had lots of fun. I was surprised how many in the ward had never had corned beef and cabbage before. It was a hit. To end the night we had a fiddler play Irish music. We also had a sing-a-long, singing "When Irish Eyes are Smiling" amd "Danny Boy". And for the finale, we had a couple cloggers dance for us. Lacey even came and brought along her friend Kim from Livingston. They left today (Sat.) for a wedding in Brigham City, UT and tomorrow will get to see Sean at BYU before heading back home.

Sounds like you had a blast. I'm not a corned beef and cabbage fan myself . . . but I would have had a blast at your party. Good job.
