USC beat Illinois today in the Rose Bowl. We won big 49-17. 49 points ties for the most points scored in the Rose Bowl. It never even got close except when IL made a TD in the 3rd quarter to pull to within 11 points. I think USC is the best team in the country at the moment. The team is finally healthy and looks like a championship team.
Well, I eat, sleep and drink USC football. Now the season is over and I have to find other things to do with my time now. I am happy how USC finished their season with a bang.
New Year's Eve and Day were enjoyable. I made tacos for New Year's Eve and we played some games and watched movies. This morning I made the kid's favorite, "Piggy Pudding" It is a Paula Deen recipe with cornbread, apples and sausage. I also put on a big pot of black eyed peas with ham. It is a family tradition. I have been eating black eyed peas all my life, every New Year's Day. It is supposed to give you good luck throughout the rest of the year. I do it to keep the tradition alive.
I got up early to watch the Rose Parade too. Everybody was asleep, but this is another tradition that I cannot break. Besides, I had to watch the USC Trojan Marching Band march down Colorado Blvd.
Fight On, Trojans!

Happy New Year! And what is it about beans for this holiday? We had them, too.
